P Day at the Beach

So this week went pretty well. We had more lessons and I'm still working on contacting more.. We had 263 this week.

We have a couple of really good investigators as always. H finally was able to go to church and he's at a primary activity today which is good. He loves it.

We have a really great new investigator named A and she has lots of friends in the church so that's good. She said she would go to church this week to so that will be good. She is really awesome and we have had a couple of really great lessons with her.

One of our converts hasn't come to church all month so that is sad. We visit her like twice a week and she always says she will go but then when it comes down to it she doesn't. This has happened with her a lot though but I don't know what else we can do.

We met a family that is really receptive. They are Catholics but they are really positive. We just have to teach them that they can't pray to the virgin Mary.

C and J weren't able to go to church this Sunday but they are really great and they want to go to church like every Sunday and she says that she's praying and she has read the pamphlet.

Ok...so the C family...They were so ready to FINALLY go to church and then someone said some chisme (joke)  about J (their daughter who is a convert) and so they didn't come.  I feel like they are just looking for excuses sometimes. It made me really sad but we are going to visit them. C (the dad) still has lots of pride issues and only sees the faults in the members so we're trying to help him with that.

I feel better this week than I did last week. I realized that as long as we are working hard we are doing what God wants and if we aren't seeing results it's because we are being tried to have more patience and humility.

Yesterday for P-day we just made food for the district...

For Mike I want him to read “The Greatest Generation of Missionaries”. It was a talk by Elder Ballard in Nov 2002.(Here's that talk)

Ok and I have to ask...one of my companions is going off about some casaka about a Microchip that Pres. Obama said that everyone has to have...Tell me it's a big fat lie and I won't be coming home to a family of robots...  (Does anyone know what this is all about?)

I think I'm Gods favorite child because I have been blessed with the best family in the whole world :)

Well this week was alright. We have baptized all of our pilas (awesome) investigators so now we are just looking for more.

We still haven't been able to teach M. Every time we go he isn't there we're going to keep looking since he's already been to church 3 times.

We also have other investigators that have attended once or twice so we are going to work hard with them so that we can have at least the 4 baptisms that we said we would have. D got baptized and confirmed so we just need 3 more at least. He is doing really well. He's just such an awesome person and he is going to be such a good missionary some day!

Also B finally got confirmed! We went to go pick her up for church and she wasn't going to go because her legs hurt but she said she would go anyways and then after her confirmation I asked how she was and she said really good and that her legs didn't hurt anymore! We'll have to keep working to help her get to church always because of the people she is living with but I think she will be OK.

H was in trouble again this week so he couldn't go to church but we have an appointment with him and his mom today so we hope that will go well and that we can help him be a little more obedient.

S didn't go to church and we haven't been able to teach him...He still doesn't have the desire to be baptized unfortunately.

E doesn't really want to change right now either so we're going to keep trying to work with him.

As for me...I don't know...I was reading my patriarchal blessing and I just feel like I'm not living up to the potential that I am supposed to. I don't know there are a lot of really good blessings in there and I just need to work harder to receive them. We're not being disobedient, we always have at least 35 contacts, we have at least 27 lessons...I just want to be BETTER. We are just going to work really really hard to find the 3 miracles we need to make our promise of 4 baptisms this month!

Sorry I forgot my camera or I would send more pictures of yesterday...it was fun. I played soccer the whole time :) sorry I think I like soccer now...you can kick me out of the house for 4.5 months if you want but I expect you to let me come back in August :)

....I forgot it was St. Pattys day hahah
LOVE YOU! Ten una buena semana

Day late but here I am!!

I'm already a year old in the mission! Today was our zone conference so we had to switch emailing and everything to today. It's just about the kidnapping that happened in December. Our area is really safe though so you don’t have to worry about anything and our members are always willing to go out with us. Yeah I get along with my companion.  She is really great and a really hard worker.

Anyway...this week D got baptized!! It went really well especially with the baptisms from Sipacate too. They all seem like really good young men and all three of them said they want to serve missions! D was a little bit nervous the day of his interview and wasn't sure about it but we read Mosiah 18:8-10 and he said that he still wanted to get baptized and on the day of his baptism he was really excited. We asked his sister if their family was going to come and she said that no one supported him (but her of course). It's sad when that happens but I know that his family will change little by little.

The R Family is doing really well. Pretty sure E is trying to baptize her whole family which is GREAT. Every Sunday there is a new child or grandchild of hers that is attending and every time we visit them she introduces us to someone new so that is really awesome.

We also visited B. To make a long story short the people she is living with don't let her go to church and hit her. We told her she should move back in with The R family and she said that she would. We are going back today to make sure everything is ok with her.

Speaking of people who still haven't been confirmed...We keep trying to visit B but she is "never home" or always on the way out the door. We are going to work really hard to find her at least 3 times this week. We just don't know what to do because she was really great when she got baptized but now she is working every Sunday and doesn't go to church or receive us.

We're still working with E. He was out of town this week but he's back now. I think he's starting to understand that he needs to change now instead of later.

We went to teach S last week and his wife said that he had left to visit his mom so we went back yesterday and we also read Mosiah 18 with him but he says he still doesn't want to get baptized....yet. We think he will be baptized in April at the latest.

We've been visiting The J family and the husband is a lot more receptive than his wife. He is reading in the Book of Mormon and praying and everything so that is really great. Now we just need to get them to church.

We went with the C family and the dad is changing...little by little but he is changing! We gave a REALLY direct lesson about the importance of being an example in his family and having family prayer and he was like but no one is ever home at the same time and giving a bunch of excuses but then we said well everyone is here right now so at the end of the lesson we will leave and you guys can have family prayer. So we ended and on Sunday we asked his daughter if they had prayed and she said yes and that her dad said they were going to start having family prayer!

It was a pretty good week. We just need to have more lessons with members present and it would be perfect.

We eat lots of chicken rice...tortillas..I don't know normal stuff...I make pupusas at least twice a week...I can't wait to get home and make you some!! They are so good! Last p day we slept all day...this p day we went to the dentist because my comp got a wisdom tooth taken out...yes I got the package of valentines candy like on the 19th because it was the only meeting we had. I love my area so so so so much! No there is no daylight savings here.
I hope you have a great week!

This week we had 347 contacts.
So we have a bunch of really great things that can happen this month. This weekend we will have the baptism of D. He is doing so great. We are so excited for him to be baptized. He's 20 so we are hoping that he will be going on a mission in a year! He seriously is really awesome. His sister is A. We are still waiting for the rest of the divorce to go through so her and JL can get married and then we want to have her baptism this month too. She is doing really well...always going to church - like always so that is great!

H is so ready to be baptized we just need his parents’ permission. He is doing really well and loves going to church.

D will be a little bit harder. He lives with his very very very "Christian" grandma who will be a little bit more difficult when it comes to getting permission. He comes to church every Sunday and goes to all of the activities as well. It's not very hard because he lives next door to the chapel.

There is another kid named M who is E's grandson who has attended. We just need to teach him. His dad already said he could get baptized so we won't have any problems with permission.

S came to church this Sunday so he just needs one more attendance. We are planning his baptism for the 17th of this month so that will be great. We will just have to visit him to keep animating him for his baptism.

So now for the harder baptism that we want to have...We have a convert named E and when she got baptized her daughter and her son were going to get baptized as well but the son didn't want to because he still felt bad about some things in his past. Her daughter didn't get baptized that day but she got baptized last month (M). Well the son (E) came to church with us Sunday for the first time in like 3 months and stayed all 3 hours and wants to get baptized. He had like a little confession in Gospel Principles class and said that he was in a gang but that he wants to change so we are going to find out really how serious it all is so that we can help him. He really is a great kid..just a little lost.

Well B came to the activity on Saturday. It's the first time she has been to church since her baptism...we went to pick her up on Sunday and she "wasn't there." so it's been almost 2 months that she hasn't been confirmed.

Both of these sisters are in the US right now.  Hna Astorga is in the
Provo MTC (going to Rochester, NY Mission) and Hna Neighbor
is home from her mission
On a happier note the R family got confirmed and are awesome as ALWAYS. Only B didn't go to church with us. There were some problems in her house but she said she was for sure going to go this week.

Time to go.  Happy 1 year of not having your favorite daughter home
..happy 5 months till I see you again!
LOVE YOU!
