Day late but here I
am!!
I'm already a year
old in the mission! Today was our zone conference so we had to switch emailing
and everything to today. It's just about the kidnapping that happened in
December. Our area is really safe though so you don’t have to worry about
anything and our members are always willing to go out with us. Yeah I get along
with my companion. She is really great
and a really hard worker.
Anyway...this week D got baptized!! It went really well
especially with the baptisms from Sipacate too. They all seem like really good
young men and all three of them said they want to serve missions! D was a
little bit nervous the day of his interview and wasn't sure about it but we
read Mosiah 18:8-10 and he said that he still wanted to get baptized and on the
day of his baptism he was really excited. We asked his sister if their family
was going to come and she said that no one supported him (but her of course).
It's sad when that happens but I know that his family will change little by
little.
The R Family is doing really well. Pretty sure E is
trying to baptize her whole family which is GREAT. Every Sunday there is a new
child or grandchild of hers that is attending and every time we visit them she
introduces us to someone new so that is really awesome.
We also visited B. To make a long story short the
people she is living with don't let her go to church and hit her. We told her
she should move back in with The R family and she said that she would. We
are going back today to make sure everything is ok with her.
Speaking of people who still haven't been confirmed...We keep
trying to visit B but she is "never home" or always on the way
out the door. We are going to work really hard to find her at least 3 times
this week. We just don't know what to do because she was really great when she
got baptized but now she is working every Sunday and doesn't go to church or receive
us.
We're still working with E. He was out of town this week but
he's back now. I think he's starting to understand that he needs to change now
instead of later.
We went to teach S last week and his wife said that he had
left to visit his mom so we went back yesterday and we also read Mosiah 18 with
him but he says he still doesn't want to get baptized....yet. We think he will
be baptized in April at the latest.
We've been visiting The J family and the husband is a lot more receptive than his wife. He is reading in the Book of Mormon and
praying and everything so that is really great. Now we just need to get them to
church.
We went with the C family and the dad is changing...little
by little but he is changing! We gave a REALLY direct lesson about the
importance of being an example in his family and having family prayer and he
was like but no one is ever home at the same time and giving a bunch of excuses
but then we said well everyone is here right now so at the end of the lesson we
will leave and you guys can have family prayer. So we ended and on Sunday we
asked his daughter if they had prayed and she said yes and that her dad said
they were going to start having family prayer!
It was a pretty good week. We just need to have more lessons
with members present and it would be perfect.
We eat lots of chicken rice...tortillas..I don't know normal
stuff...I make pupusas at least twice a week...I can't wait to get home and
make you some!! They are so good! Last p day we slept all day...this p day we
went to the dentist because my comp got a wisdom tooth taken out...yes I got
the package of valentines candy like on the 19th because it was the only
meeting we had. I love my area so so so so much! No there is no
daylight savings here.
I hope you have a
great week!
